ISHNR History

ISHNR History

The ISHNR was originally conceptualised over a few rounds of informal intellectual discussions and debates at State IRIA Conferences in 2018-19. Subspeciality Radiology Societies were fast emerging in India and there was a growing palpable interest in Head and Neck Radiology. For some years, Head Neck Radiology was considered as a sub-set of Neuroradiology – but there was definitely a growing need for an independent society with an increasing number of Radiologists showing dedicated interest in this field.

And this eventually led to the birth of the Indian Society of Head and Neck Radiology – the ISHNR was established by a group of dedicated radiologists in 2019 at Chennai. The society was formed under the able guidance of Head and Neck stalwart of Indian origin at Hongkong – Prof Dr T Anil Ahuja. The society was officially formed and registered on May 20, 2019 at Chennai, India.

So here are the ones who came up with the idea of the ISHNR and acted on it….
