Clinico – Radiological Webinar ISHNR

On the occasion of World hearing day on 3rd March 2024, we at the ISHNR conducted the first clinico- radiological webinar of the year.
Dr. Varsha Joshi, President ISHNR inaugurated the program. Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Secretary ISHNR invited the first speaker Dr. Ravi Meher, Director professor and head, Department of Otorhinolarynology and Head Neck Surgery, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. He delivered a talk on “Cochlear implant: what the surgeon wants to know from the radiologist”. Dr. Madhavi K, Joint secretary ISHNR invited the second speaker Dr.Rajendra Solanki, Professor and Head, Nutan Medical College Visnagar and Consultant radiologist, Suyog imaging, Mehsana & Radiscan Diagnostics. He spoke in depth about “ Implant Triumphs : Navigating CongenitalCochlear Challenges with Preoperative Imaging”. Both the talks were very well appreciated by the audience and ended with an interactive session.

4th Annual Conference
18th – 19th November 2023
The 4th Annual conference of Indian society of Head and Neck Radiology – Innovate Educate Elevate, was held on 18- 19 November 2023 at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, New Delhi.
Dr Varsha Joshi was the Organising Chairman, Dr. Jyoti Kumar the Organising Secretary, Dr L Murali Krishna the Treasurer, Dr Madhavi K the Joint Secretary and Dr Abhinav Jain was the coordinator for this conference. The conference received nearly 200 registrations.
The chief guest of the conference was Dr Anil D Cruz, Director Oncology,Apollo Hospitals and Immediate past president Union International Cancer Control (UICC), who shared his insights with the delegates.
Dr Anil Ahuja Oration was delivered by Dr N Chidambaranathan on the topic – “Exploring Minefield” in Head & Neck Imaging.
Eminent faculty from across the country spoke on various pertinent topics in head and neck imaging including oncology and non-oncology sessions. Multiple case-based reviews were highly appreciated by the delegates. In addition, there were multiple workshops on various topics that included ultrasound neck, thyroid, intraoral US, guided biopsies and thyroid ablation, which the residents found extremely useful. There was a Quiz- ‘Gamification in Head and Neck Radiology’, an amalgamation of Dumb Charades, Bollywood music and Harry Potter characters with radiology images, was an enjoyable ‘Learn with Fun’ experience for the participants as well as the audience. The community looks forward to the 5th Annual Conference in Ahmedabad.

Clinico-Radiological Webinar on Head and Neck Cancers
27th July 2023
On the occasion of 9th World Head and Neck Cancer day on the 27th of July 2023, we at the ISHNR organized of webinar on head and Neck Cancers at 7 pm. We had two distinguished speakers for the program- DR Anil D’Cruz and Dr Suresh K Mukherji. The event was attended by nearly 100 delegates.
Dr Varsha Joshi, President ISHNR began the program with her welcome address. Dr Jyoti Kumar, Sceretary ISHNR, introduced the first speaker Dr Anil d’Cruz , Director oncology, Apollo hospitals. He spoke on ‘How imaging influenced management decisions and treatment outcomes in patients with HNSCC- notes from a surgeon’s diary”.
Dr Joshi introduced our second speaker, Dr Suresh K Mukherji, Director of Head and Neck Radiology, Proscan imaging and Professor of Radiology and Radiation Oncology, University of Illinois. He spoke on “Making a difference – the importance of Head and Neck Imaging in oncology”. Both the talks were very well received by the audience. At the end of the program there was a highly interactive Q & A session.
Dr A Anbaras, immediate past president of ISHNR, congratulated the speakers on their immense contribution to the academic activities of the society. The program concluded with the Vote of thanks by Dr Jyoti Kumar, Secretary ISHNR
Clinico-Radiological Webinar on Orbital tumors
23rd June 2023
The third clinico-radiological webinar on orbital tumours was held on the 23rd of June 2023. Dr. Varsha Joshi, President ISHNR started the program with the Welcome address. Dr. Milind Naik, Consultant Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at LVPEI Hyderabad spoke on ‘Orbital Imaging – the clinical perspective’.
This was followed by a talk on ‘Imaging of orbital tumours’ by Dr. KG Srinivasan, Chief Radiologist at KGS Advanced CT and MR scans Madurai. The session was attended by nearly 100 delegates who appreciated the content immensely. Dr. Jayaraj Govindraj, Vice president ISHNR and Dr. Madhavi K, Joint secretary ISHNR moderated the Q&A session. The webinar ended with Vote of thanks by Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Secretary ISHNR.
Clinico-Radiological Webinar on Oral Cancer
23 April 2023
On 23rd April 2023, ISHNR conducted the second clinico-radiological webinar on oral cancers. April was the month of oral cancer awareness. Dr. Prathamesh S Pai, Head, Department of Head Neck Surgical Oncology, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and President of Foundation for Head Neck Oncology (FHNO), India was the chief guest. After ‘Welcome address’ by Dr. Varsha Joshi, President, ISHNR, Dr. Prathamesh S Pai spoke on the surgeon’s perspective on oral cancers. This was followed by two lectures on imaging of tongue cancer and gigivobuccal cancer.
The first talk was delivered by Dr. Saugata Sen, Senior Consultant, Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. Dr. Madhavi K, Associate Professor, CMC Vellore spoke on imaging of gingivobuccal cancer. The program was well received with interactive discussion amongst the speakers and Q&A from the delegates. The programme concluded with ‘Vote of thanks’ by Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Secretary, ISHNR.
ISHNR CLINICO-RADIOLOGICALWEBINAR SERIES

The First webinar of the ISHNR Clinico-Radiological Webinar Series for the year 2023 was held online on 05th March 2023, around the World Hearing Day. The World Hearing Day is observed every year on 3rd March and this year the theme was “Ear and hearing care for all”. The ISHNR webinar was planned in sync with this theme to address the role of imaging in conductive and sensorineural hearing loss. The meeting was conducted from 10 -11.30 am.
The meeting started with welcome address by Dr. A. Amarnath, founder President of ISHNR. The chief guest for the meeting was Dr. Ravi Ramalingam, President of the Indian Society of Otology, the Managing Director and Senior Consultant at KKR ENT Hospital and Research Institute, Chennai. He discussed the clinical approach to a patient with hearing loss and provided valuable insights.
The talk on approach to conductive hearing loss was delivered by Dr. Anbarasu, the and the approach to sensorineural hearing loss was delivered by Dr. Varsha Joshi. The sessions were moderated by Dr. Madhavi, joint secretary of ISHNR.
The meeting received a great response with over 100 delegates in attendance. The talks were well appreciated and the delegates clarified their queries. The concluding remarks were given by Dr. Amarnath and Dr. Varsha Joshi.
ICRI MEETS ISHNR-SYNERGY SERIES
12 February 2023
The first teaching programme of the year 2023 was the ICRI-ISHNR Synergy programme held online on 12th February 2023, from 9 AM to 2 PM. It was also the first synergy programme conducted by ICRI in this year. The meeting received a great response with more than 350 delegates in attendance.
The meeting started with welcome address by Dr. A. Anbarasu, Chairman ICRI and Dr. Varsha Joshi, president ISHNR. Dr. Sikandar Sheikh, coordinator and Vice Chairman, ICRI and Dr. Amit Disawal, Secretary ICRI introduced the programme.
The programme was a half day session covering all the next spaces in detail by the invited guest faculty which included Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Dr. Abhinav Bhagat, Dr. Anagha Joshi, Dr. Soumya Regi, Dr. Sarthak Swarup and Dr. Priscilla Joshi. The various sessions were moderated by Dr. Varsha Joshi, Dr. A. Anbarasu, Dr. Jyoti Kumar and Dr. N. Chidambaranathan. The programme ended with a quiz conducted by Dr. Aparna Irodi. Dr. Shubham Padashetty and Dr. Mankirat Singh Dhillon were the first and second prize winners of the quiz in the resident category while Dr. Pradosh Kumar Sarangi and Dr. Shweta were the first and second prize winners in the consultant category.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Secretary ISHNR.
Third Annual Conference of the ISHNR
Dates: December 16,17,18 2022
The third annual conference of Indian Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ISHNR) was held on 16, 17and 18th of December 2022, at The Leela Palace, Chennai. This conference was awarded 6 credit hours by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council. It was organised in conjunction with 75th Annual Conference of Tamil Nadu-Pondicherry chapter of IRIA.
The conference began with a short introduction and overview of the programme by Dr. A Anbarasu, President of ISHNR. It was attended by approximately 150 – 200 delegates.
The renowned head and neck expert Dr. Anil Ahuja, from Hong Kong was the guest speaker. His talks included salivary gland imaging and post operative surveillance of neck. The ISHNR inaugural oration was delivered by Dr. Anil Ahuja on “Parathyroid imaging – Current concepts”. There were several eminent national speakers including Dr. Chidambaranathan , Dr. A Anbarasu, Dr. Varsha Joshi, Dr. Jyoti Kumar to name a few. The talks were highly appreciated by the delegates. The ISHNR grand quiz was conducted by Dr. Aparna Irodi and the delegates had a great time.
The pre-conference workshop was conducted on 16th of December at Tamil Nadu Govt multi super-speciality hospital, Chennai. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Anil Ahuja, Dr. Anbarasu and Dr. Pankaj Mehta. The workshop included demonstration and hands on training session on ultrasound of the neck, salivary glands, thyroid, paediatric neck, intraoral ultrasound and brachial plexus.
The general body meeting was held on 17th December and elected new office bearers for the year 2023-2024.
The inaugural function was held on 18th December and addressed by Dr. Anbarasu, President (ISHNR), Dr. Varsha Joshi, President-elect (ISHNR) and Dr. Anil Ahuja.
Closing remarks were given by Dr. Rajendra Solanki, Secretary (ISHNR). Overall, the third annual conference was a great success in terms of strengthening and enhancing knowledge in the field of Head and Neck Radiology.
Second Annual Conference of the ISHNR
Dates: February 12 and 13, 2022
The second annual conference of Indian Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ISHNR) was held on 12th and 13th February 2022, via online platform.
The conference began with a short introduction and overview of the programme by Dr. A Anbarasu, President of ISHNR. It was attended by approximately 345 delegates. There were more than 25 abstracts for scientific papers and over 30 e-posters.
There were several eminent national speakers including Dr.Anil Ahuja, Dr.Chidambaranath, Dr.Pankaj Sharma, Dr.Varsha Joshi, Dr. Anagha Joshi, Dr.Jyoti Kumar, Dr.Saugata Sen, Dr. Reetika Chanda, Dr.Soumya Regi, Dr.Supreeta Arya, Dr.Sikha KhandelwaL & Dr.Diva Shah. The talks were highly appreciated by the delegates.
Closing remarks & vote of thanks were given by Dr. Rajendra Solanki, Secretary (ISHNR).
First Annual Conference of the ISHNR

The first Inaugural Annual Conference of Indian Society of Head & Neck Radiology (ISHNR) was held on 6th December, 2020 via online platform.
The conference began with a short introduction and overview of the Programme by Dr. C Amarnath, President of ISHNR. It was attended by approximately 320 delegates. There were more than 20 abstracts for Scientific papers and over 30 e-posters.
There were several eminent national speakers including Dr. Anil Ahuja, Dr. C Amarnath, Dr. A Anbrasu, Dr. N Chidambaranathan, Dr. Jyoti Kumar, Dr.Varsha Joshi, Dr. Rajendra Solanki, Dr. Aparna Irodi & Dr. N O Veena. The talks were highly appreciated by the delegates.
Dr. A Anbarasu Secretary General (ISHNR) gave vote of thanks and made Closing remarks. In the covid times, it was good start from Indian society of Head & neck Radiology.
